Advisor & Dancer
Julaluck Eakwattanapun is a researcher and choreographer specializing in contemporary Thai dance, with a focus on integrating experimental movement and performative inquiry. Her work explores co-creation processes and draws on techniques from contemporary artists to innovate Thai dance pedagogy in university settings.
As a scholar-practitioner, Julaluck has published key research such as “Creating Contemporary Dance through Co-Creation Methods” (2021) in the Burapha Journal of Fine and Applied Arts, and “New Approaches to Teaching Thai Classical Dance Using Pichet Klunchun’s Thepanom Concept” (2019), supported by the Thailand Research Fund (TRF). These works expand the boundaries of Thai performance studies by applying creative and experimental methodologies.
Her choreographic portfolio reflects cross-disciplinary innovation. In “Nasika-Samphat: Scent and Choreography” (2024), she incorporated the sense of smell as a design element in dance, while “Color Draws Movement” (2021) explored intersections between visual and performing arts, inspired by Pichet Klunchun’s No.60 system.
Through her dual commitment to academic inquiry and creative exploration, Julaluck plays a vital role in shaping the evolution of Thai contemporary dance and its education, introducing new frameworks for both choreography and performance training.
